Student Depot was established in 2014 by Griffin Capital Partners and Oaktree Capital Management with the opening of Poland’s very first PBSA building in the city center of Poznań, which was a conversion of an existing hotel building. Later in 2019, Kajima Student Housing Limited acquired Student Depot in partnership with Griffin.

The platform operates student houses in the largest Polish academic cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan, Lodz, and Lublin. The dormitories provide tenants with everything they need to live comfortably, study, and spend their free time in an international community of young people from more than 50 countries. In 2022, Student Depot was recognized as the ‘International Operator of the Year’ during the Property Week Student Housing Awards.

By the time of Griffin’s exit at the end of 2023, Student Depot was the leading market player with nearly 4,200 beds in operation and another 1,000 beds under construction.
